The HighPoint Advisors, LLC team celebrated Earth Day this year by cleaning up a stretch of Cedar Bay Road in DeWitt. We’re so glad we were able to do this – at this time last year the office had gone remote and so we did Earth Day clean-ups in our individual neighborhoods. It’s great to be back together for one of our favorite annual traditions.
The cleanup is part of a program sponsored by OCRRA, which provides materials and special pickup sites around the county to encourage participation for individuals, clubs, and businesses.
According to the OCRRA website (Earth Day isnt just an internationally observed day of action, but also a non-profit), the first Earth Day “achieved a rare political alignment, enlisting support from Republicans and Democrats, rich and poor, urban dwellers and farmers, business and labor leaders. By the end of 1970, the first Earth Day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of other first of their kind environmental laws, including the National Environmental Education Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the Clean Air Act.”
A special thank you to Mother Earth for not snowing on us this year!
